The male huanarpo is a medium-sized tree or shrub native to Peru. It has active components, such as anthocyanins, alkaloids, saponins, tannins and flavonoids, which contribute to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. According to the chroniclers, the Inca Sinchi Roca used it to improve erectile dysfunction.
