A vine plant of the Rubiaceae family, originally from Peru. It grows in virgin lands of the Peruvian Jungle, and also in lands that have been in disuse for some time. The plant is used by the indigenous inhabitants as a medicinal herb due to its antioxidant properties, which serve as a natural anti-inflammatory.
